Part Time Childcare at Christ Church San Antonio

Job Description: A part-time church childcare worker is responsible for supervising and engaging with children during scheduled church services and events. This position requires creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise children ranging from infants to PreK in a safe and secure environment within the church premises.

2. Maintain a vigilant watch over children to ensure their safety at all times. Implement and enforce safety protocols, including sign-in/out procedures, emergency response plans, and adherence to church policies.

3. Maintain open and transparent communication with parents, church staff, and volunteers regarding children's needs, activities, and any concerns or incidents that arise.

4. Work collaboratively with other childcare workers, volunteers, and church staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive childcare program.

5. Keep childcare areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Set up and clean up childcare spaces before and after each session.

6. Participate in training sessions and meetings as required to enhance childcare skills, knowledge of child development, and understanding of the church's mission and values.

Qualifications:

1. 1-2 years experience working with children in a childcare, education, or similar setting is preferred. First Aid and CPR certifications a plus.

2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must demonstrate patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.

3. Dependability and punctuality are crucial for this role, as childcare workers are often responsible for scheduled sessions during church services and events.

4. A commitment to the church's mission, values, and beliefs, along with a desire to contribute positively to the spiritual development of children, is important.

Working conditions:

• Part-time position, Sunday mornings and occasional weekday hours during scheduled church services and events.

• Work environment includes indoor childcare facilities within the church premises and a fenced in playground.

• Involves lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
